The University provides a wide range of academic services covering student applications and admissions through to students' on-course administration and graduation and alumni services.

Student Life

Becoming a student may well involve you moving away from your home town for the first time  The University provides a wide range of services to support, develop and help students get the most out of their time at Bath Spa University.

Academic Services

The Academic Services team oversees University academic quality and standards assurance functions to ensure the University meets national standards for the student learning experience. Main activities of the team include periodic review, course approval, annual monitoring and external examiner processes for both home and collaborative provision. The team has administrative responsibility for Academic Board subcommittees, and their subcommittees, as follows:

Business Support

Enabling effective partnerships with businesses and the community. Bath Spa University aims to provide a responsive service from which businesses and other organisations can access knowledge, expertise and opportunities for collaborative work.

Computing Services

We aim to provide students and staff with a modern network giving you access to the software and other network services that you need to study or work here.

Estates and Central Services

Estates and Central Services is the name given to a number of essential departments and teams at the heart of the University's campuses.

Finance

Human Resources

The services that Human Resources supply include recruitment and selection, probation and promotion, staff learning and development, employee relations, staff development and review, reward management, equality and diversity, management information, employment contracts, terms and conditions of employment and human resources policies and procedures.

Learning and Teaching

The Centre for Learning & Teaching Development aims to share key information and advice about all aspects of enhancing teaching and learning within the University.

Library and Information Services

The Library exists as both a physical and virtual space. This allows academic staff and students to research and study where, when and how they wish. Information Services is tasked with providing the best information to decision makers, to deliver the university's business goals.

Marketing and Communications

The Marketing and Communications Department's responsibilities relate primarily to promoting the University to potential students, influencers and stakeholders.

Pensions

On the pensions web-pages, employees and other workers will find information about Pension Auto-enrolment and how it will affect them.  In addition there are links to the Local Government Pension Scheme and the Teachers Pension Scheme providers websites.

Planning Support

Formerly known as "Information Services", the Planning Support department is responsible for the maintenance and development of the University's core teaching and administrative systems, and is tasked with providing the best information to decision makers, to deliver the university's business goals.

Research and Graduate Affairs

The Research and Graduate Affairs Department encompasses the Research Support Office, which provides research support throughout the University and the Graduate School which supports the MPhil and PhD programmes.

Technicians Service

The Technicians Service is based throughout the University.  Working in tandem with Computing Services, we help the academics provide lessons, look after the laboratories and assist the administrators with their technology needs.
